Rooted in Austin’s vibrant arts scene, Carol Stall creates jewelry as personal storytelling—each piece crafted in silver or gold, designed to last a lifetime.

Her path began in 1975 with a simple set of tools—a torch, pliers, a brick, and a soldering pick—gifted by a student who did not take to the craft. For Carol, it was the beginning of something enduring. By 1976, she was working in a studio above Half Price Books, in a former laundry that became a hub for Austin’s creative community. Surrounded by artists of all kinds, she taught herself metal smithing and developed a lifelong practice.

She later studied at the University of Texas where some of her work became part of the university’s museum collection. Though her career has included journalism and time in corporate America, she has always returned to the bench.

Today, working from her Austin studio, Carol produces a limited number of pieces each year with a focus on bespoke work and explores new techniques. She collaborates closely with clients to create jewelry that reflects personal histories, relationships, and milestones—pieces meant to be worn, lived in, and passed down.
